Off to The Thenmala!      As part of the B.Ed curriculum, the students of Sree Narayana Guru Kripa B.Ed College, Pothencode were taken for a field trip on the 25th of February 2022 . The destination chosen for the Field Trip was Thenmala Eco-Tourism .  Thenmala, which lies at the conjunction of the Kollam-Shencottah road and the Trivandrum-Shencottah Road, boasts of India's first planned Ecotourism destination. It has 10 Ecotourism spots that cover the great hill ranges of Thiruvananthapuram, Pathanamthitta, and Kollam districts. ‘Thenmala’ translates to 'Honey Hill' and so it is no surprise that high-quality honey is exported from this area. The surrounding dense forest is also known for the timber that is in much demand across the country. Oath Taking Ceremony of the College Union The College Union members have taken the Oath and have started their duties. The Oath taking ceremony of the College union (  യോദ്ധ 2022 ) took place at our college. Our honorable principal, Dr. Salini ma'am read the oath to the members and they repeated the same. Akhil A, G took oath to the position of Chairman. Akshaya B took oath to the position of Vice chairperson. Anand took oath to the position of General Secretary. Bismina S took oath to the position of University Union Counselor. Anakha took the oath to the position of Arts Club Secretary. Teachers, Non-teaching staff, and all t he students have attended the event. After taking the oath, all the union members shared their vision and aims regarding the full-fledged development of our College Union. The Oath taking ceremony started at 11:30 am and it lasts for over an hour .   

  College Assembly begins with the prayer. Sneha and Revathy recited the prayer.  Sreevidya take the pledge. Sivarenjini read the Local, National, International news. Shilpa read the campus news. Akhila spoke about the importance of the day. She shared the thought for the day. Principal shared her ideas. College assembly ends with the national anthem.

" Social Justice: Past, Present, and Future "  Webinar on the Topic " Social Justice: Past, Present, and Future " was conducted as part of World Day of Social Justice. The Social Science department coordinated the event. Dr. C. Thankaraj sir coordinated the webinar in a very responsible manner. Dr.Salini ma'am , our beloved Principal is the stage setter for the event as always.  The Webinar was presented via Google meet from 3pm to 5pm on 20 Feb 2022. The webinar was led by Dr. Rakendu C.K, Asst. Professor, Department of Law, University of Kerala, Karyavattom . She spoke about the need for equality in all aspects of society, also shared her thought about how women, marginalized people, children should be treated as humans.  She spoke about the topic with contemporary issues and examples. The webinar was very much informative.

KTET Orientation session lead by Renjitha ma'am. An orientation programme on Introduction to K-TET was done by Smt.Renjitha Raju, Director, Connects Academy. We got the entire idea regarding KTET with the single session. It was so much fruitful and inspiring. She made us familiar about the facts like what is KTET, who can appear for the exan, what is the pass mark, job opportunities, syllabus etc.  We are very much thankful to our dearest principal, Dr. Salini ma'am, Vimalakumari ma'am and all the teachers for giving us this great opportunity. A great session it was!

  College Assembly by Natural Science College Assembly started by 9:30 am. Sneha recited the prayer for the assembly. Kavya take the pledge. Hariprasad read the news. Principal delivered the speech. In between she has asked the winners of Intercollegiate events to be on stage and gave appreciation. A total of seven students were called by Principal ma'am to be on stage. It is always inspiring to get appreciation to our hardworks. Karthika speaks about the importance of the day. Praseeja shared the thought for the day. It is sad that our former teacher of Natural science passed away yesterday. Saharajan sir shared the memories of the teacher and also we prayed for her soul and family members. Assembly ends with the National Anthem.

Communicative English session Today ( 15 Feb 2022 from 10:00am to 12:00pm ) we got a great opportunity to attend the Communicative English Class lead by Mr.Joseph Varghese,Overseas English Institute. Overseas English institute Mattoor ,Ernakulam conduct awareness programmes on communicative English for students all over kerala with a view to giving insight about the importance of communication skill and 30 hour online classes to enable the participants to speak good English with confidence.In accordance to that took 2 hour cost free orientation program for the students at our college. He made the session interesting by making the students also interacting with him. He made us aware about the challenges faced by us who are unable to speak English fluently even after we are learning English for about 16 years. Webinar on Soft Skill Development  Today ( 11 Feb 2022 from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm ) we had an opportunity to attend the webinar on soft skill development lead by Nisha SK, Lab Tutor, Dept.of Mathematics, Indian Institute of Space Science and Technology. She made us know the importance of technology is the present educational scenario. She taught us how to make Google Forms and Presentation. We got the entire idea regarding the creation of these two. We are very much thankful to our dearest Principal, Salini ma'am for inviting Nisha ma'am for the session. And we are also thankful to Divya ma'am who coordinated the event in a well manner.  A productive day!

Effective Communication Strategies for the Modern Classroom Today ( 09 Feb 2022 from 4PM to 6PM ), we got an opportunity to attend a talk lead by Dr. Asha A K , Assistant Professor, Aishabai College of Education, SNDT Women's University, Mumbai, Maharashtra. It was an informative session. She cleared all the doubts we had regarding communication. She shared some tactics and tricks we as English teacher students can follow in classrooms inorder to make the classrooms efficacious. She shared some of the easiest ways to improve our language. At first we need to love English language and we need to understand the significance for acquiring the same for communication. For that, initially, you need to find a friend who also wish to communicate effectively in English. It is one of the best ways to learn new words, usage of phrases in communication, etc. Another way is to read English books, for beginners, we can start with reading English short stories then with the improvement we achieve...

Webinar on Introduction to Micro Teaching Attended a webinar on Introduction to Micro Teaching organized by KUCTE Nedumangad on 08 Feb 2022 at 5:00 pm via Zoom platform.  Dr. Velayudhan Nair T was the resource person. He is the Asst. Professor of English, Peet Memorial Training College, Mavelikkara.  It was an awesome session as I received lots of information on how to get prepared for taking a class, how to prepare lesson plans, things to be included in the lesson plan, etc...
