INTRODUCTION

Women empowerment in India is the most effective tool of development these days; women across the world are actively working as a leader and surpassing others in all spheres of life. As the entire world is gasping its breath and praying every single day for an incredible step or escape from the Covid-19 pandemic, it is the women governors and nations steered by these amazing figures who are taking over the responsibility and marketing ahead in the battle alone wherever required.

Women empowerment in India is dependent to a great extent on numerous different variables that encompass geographical setting, social status, educational status, and age factor. Actions in women's empowerment exist at the state, local and national levels. However, women encounter differentiation in most sectors like education, economic opportunities, health and medical assistance, and political participation, which demonstrates that there are substantial gaps between strategy advancements and real exercise at the community level.

The term women empowerment is all about authority, the power embarked is all about authority, or the power embarked in women sharing and is linguistically rights. The term refers to the liberation of women from the socio-economic restraints of reliance. Women comprise around 50% of the country’s population and the bulk of them stay economically dependent on each other without employment. In the age of feminism, a small portion of women in India are freed and can employ their free will, and are permitted to carve out their lives the way they want. But there is a considerable division of the women in this nation who requires optimistic support. In most Indian villages and semi-urban cities, women are still denied fundamental education and are never authorized to continue higher education despite amassing the understanding required.

Women are known for delivering multiple roles effortlessly per day, and thus, they are considered the backbone of every society. Living in male dominating societies, women play a wide range of roles, such as caring mothers, loving daughters, and capable colleagues. The best part is that they fit the bill perfectly in every role. Nonetheless, they have also stood as a neglected bunch of society in different parts of the world. In turn, it has resulted in women surviving the brunt of unevenness, financial trustworthiness, and distinct social evils. Women have been residing under the shackles of enslavement for centuries now which impedes them from attaining professional as well as personal highs.

In the setting of an English classroom where the teacher enters the classroom, students are sitting silently in the classroom. The teacher asks them about women. After the students’ response, the teacher says that they are going to discuss various women's issues.

Teacher  : Good morning children.

Students : Good morning teacher.

Teacher  : How will you define ‘woman’?

Student 1 : An adult female person. ( Gives one definition ).

Student 2 : A woman brought me into this world. ( Another definition ).

Teacher : Ok, then we will discuss various women's issues.
What do you think are women's issues?

Student 1 : Child marriage

Student 2 : Dowry Issues

Student 3 : Domestic Violence

Student 4 : Post-Partum depression

Student 5 : Witchcraft related problem

The teacher then says there are so many issues, so let's look into them one by one. Students reply effectively.

Scene 2

The setting of a home. Two people seem to be husband and wife talking to each other about the marriage of their daughters to an old man.

Father : So, we have to decide the date of marriage.

Mother : Let it happen as soon as possible.

Father : You don’t tell the age of the bridegroom, anyone, Ok? I will make all the necessary arrangements within a week.

Scene 3

The daughter thinks of her school days, and talks to her best friend in school, about marriage, and her longing to come to school rather than get married to an old man.

Friend : You have to tell your parents seriously.

Daughter : I have told them several times. I too have a dream. I want to study. I need freedom. I am not ready for marriage. I am only 16.

Friend : Your parents are uneducated idiots. I will tell my parents to come to meet your father and to convince him. Don’t worry.

Daughter : They won’t hear anyone.

Friend : Let’s see.

The marriage happens and she is confined now to the four walls of that house.

Scene 4

The setting of another house is where we could see the conversation between a mother and her son. They talk about the problem related to his marriage-dowry related issues

Mother : You have to ask her for the balance of ornaments that they have promised to give in marriage.

Son : I asked her right now. That girl shows her cheap sentiment and cries. Hell!

Mother : Aren’t you able to control your wife? (angrily)

Son : I will show her my true self.

The man calls her by name and scolds her.

Scene 5

Husband : Where is the balance amount?

Wife : You know my family is not in a good financial state to give you the….

Husband : I don’t want your third-rate explanation.

Wife : Pappa will give you the money when he gets the same…. ( she cries loudly )

Husband : That ugly old man cheated me, with no money! Not even a good girl….Hell!

The husband beats her and leaves the room. She cries endlessly.

Scene 6

Classroom setting as Scene 01. The teacher talks about witchcraft.

Teacher : So next, I am talking about witchhunts, abuse of women, superstitions, and murders in India. More than 2500 Indians were chased and killed in such hunts between 2000 and 2016 according to National Crime Records Bureau.

Paper cuttings are shown.

Scene 7

Boy : Hey, Stop there…Why are you not responding nowadays?

Girl : I have already told you… let's breakup!

Lady : ( cries )

Man : Are you mad? Always crying and creating a nuisance.

Lady : (again cries)

Man : Stop this show. Will you please shut up?

The child cries, but she never minds, the mother takes the baby out of the bedroom.

Then the lady, after being left by everyone, writes her diary notes that she wants to end her life and what all things she felt due to post-partum depression.

Scene 9

The scene in a hospital. A man along with his wife and mother comes to the hospital for scanning. The doctor checks the scan report and gives precautions to the pregnant wife. The mother asks for the gender of the child, but the doctor says, what you have asked me is illegal and inhumane.

Doctor : Good morning, sit down.

Man : Good morning, doctor.

Doctor : Did you take the scan? Where is it?

(The man gives the scan report to her. She examines.)

Doctor : Everything is fine, and the baby seems to be okay, but what you have is to take more care of the mother, because her health will affect the baby too…look at her…

Mother-in-law : She is always like that.

Doctor : (Looking at the lady) Looks here you seem so tired. What happened? This is not your first pregnancy, right? What's your problem?

Mother : Nothing madam. We take good care of her. ( Silently to the doctor, she asks ) Is it a boy?

Doctor : If not so?...

Mother : We are actually expecting a boy, already we have two girls, 2 great burdens…

Doctor : I think you are a woman…Are you a Burden?

Scene 10

The setting of a classroom. The teacher asks what you people consider as the turning point in the life of a woman. Students raise several cards.
